• Condition: This authentic flyer is torn in half and glue mounted to a rigid cardboard backing. The are some light stains and light toning with age. The bottom edge is slightly worn. Measures 11 x 17 inches. This flyer is uncommon in any condition and could easily be restored to add to a permanent collection. This 10th Anniversary Be-In was held in Central Park on April 10, 1977 to commemorate the original 1967 "Summer of Love" Peace rally. New York, like much of the world, had changed drastically in the preceding decade as 1977 would become known as the "Summer of Sam" for the namesake of Sam Berkowitz who had terrorized the city with a series of violent murders. The event was organized by the Youth International Party (YIP or Yippies). This authentic official flyer is rare in the extreme.
