This replica of the ancient roman Gladius Hispaniensis is a high quality rendition of one of the most important arms in battle for the roman empire. The sword is 19 inches, 21 inches in scabbard, with a 12 inch blade. The foot long high quality carbon steel blades slides easily and comfortably into its scabbard with quick sheathing and un-sheathing The leaf blade is based on the first style of Gladii used from around 216 BC until 20 BC. The widened blade is said to be the most effective in battle of the several succeeding versions of the gladius.
